.308-.311 Calibre Sabot to accept any .22 calibre projectile. These sabots allow .224 calibre bullets to be fired from a .30cal rifle very accurately and consistently. The benefits of this are a considerably less cost of ammunition due to the wide range and low cost of .22 heads available and the reduced powder charge due to the decreased resistance of the projectile down the barrel. Considerably increases barrel life as only the sabot it in contact with the rifling. Zero fouling. Hardly any recoil. The sabots are one piece injection moulded for consistency and are all identical. The five fingers hold the .224 calibre bullet tight. Once the sabot exits the muzzle of the rifle the fingers simultaneously flare apart leaving the .22 bullet spinning at your rifles twist rate. I use these in my .3006 and a charge of 40gr Varget behind a sierra 53gr HP Match on average has a muzzle velocity of 4500FPS!!!! Despite this the recoil is no more than a .38 underleaver and the pressure is half that of FMJ loads. For plinking a load of 12gr of trail boss in .3006 with the same projectile gives me an average of 2500FPS. YOU DO NOT NEED A VARIATION TO OWN THESE ITEMS.
