~ 19th century Indian Matchlock ~

This excellent example has a simple straight wood stock to compliment the damask barrel and ornate raised floral decoration to the copper lock plates. It has a fully stocked barrel with bands of twisted gold wire inlay towards the lock. The gun has both a front and rear sight.

The stock is marked 421 LSD with a broad arrow. The copper lock plate is stamped with CC with a British broad arrow. The gun has several inspection marks over its entirety.

~ Dimensions ~

The musket measures 54.5 inches (139cm) in total. The barrel is 33 inches (84cm) in length. This gun weighs 3.02kg.

~ Condition ~

The gun is in very good condition for its age and type. There is some bruising to the woodwork but no chips or splits. The metalwork has darkened a little with age but is showing only light surface wear. There is a small section of wire inlay missing from the barrel. The mechanism is in working order. It is missing its ramrod. A fine example
