Description

This is an original, nice condition, Mauser, Broomhandled, C/96, 7.63 mm Semi Automatic Pistol. Large numbers of the C/96 in both 9mm and 7.63 mm calibre were purchased during WW1 by the Imperial German Army and many survived to serve Reichsmarine and Weimar period Police Units. The popularity of the weapon is evident in that with minor refinements this model was still being produced in the 1930's. This Pistol has a small ring hammer and Universal safety protruding from the rear left side of the frame which indicates that was produced post 1930 (See page 59 of Guns of The Reich by Markham). The weapon has a 4" barrel and undamaged metalwork with wood grips. The weapon has fixed foresight and adjustable rear sight. The top of the barrel block is stamped 'Waffenfabrik Oberndorf A. Neckar'. The right side of the frame is very faintly stamped with the same wording. The pistol cocks, strips and dry fires. Price includes deactivation certificate and UK delivery. Sn 9123
