V. Rare OLD SPEC Military pattern 1913 Webley MK I .455 Self Loading Pistol ( Sn 7809 ).This is a very rare example of the largest calibrel Webley self Loading Pistols. It is OLD SPEC deactivated in May 1991. Accepted for service in early 1913, this huge calibre pistol number 97800 was made on the 24th June 1913 ( see page 251 Webley & Scott Automatic Pistols by Bruce ) It is the standard Military Model used initially by the Royal Navy, then Army and Royal Flying Corps. These pistols were to say the least substantial, 8 1/2 long with a 5 inch barrel and weighing 40 ozs empty. It fired a man stopping 224 nickel coated copper jacketed bullet at 779 fps. Designed to expend all its energy into a target you would not want to be on the receiving end. This example dated 1913, is in very good original condition. It has its original grips, lanyard ring and correct magazine. It also has its grip safety, ring hammer and retains 60 - 70% of its original factory finish. There are no signs of damage or repair. These are very scarce pistols in any conditio and this is very good, it cocks, strips and dry fires as it should. A rare opportunity. The price includes UK delivery and the deactivation certificate.
