Description

1937 Japanese Type 94 8mm Nambu Pistol and Original Holster. Sn 7522.Designed by Kijir? Nambu, the type 94 pistol entered production in 1934 at the Nambu Rifle Manufacturing Company. This example, made at the Nagoya Arsenal dates to 1937, date letters ` 11.12` (illustrated). It is a nice early example undoubtably carried throughout the war until captured or surrendered. It retains much of its original finish, original un-damaged grips and correct magazine. Originally marketed commercially, it is sometimes said to have been developed as a compact pistol intended for pilots, air crews, and tank crews. The Type 94 used the same 8x22mm Nambu (.315 inch) ammunition as the Type 14 and was easier to load, having a much stronger firing mechanism to reduce misfires. This is a fine example, later production models were poorly made and un-finished. It cocks, strips and dry fires. In addition it comes with its original leather holster and shoulder strap which in itself is a very rare item. This too is in excellent original condition, supple and un-damaged. There is no reason to suppose that the pistol and holster were not captured at the same time. A superb set. The price includes the deactivation certificate and UK delivery. Sn 7522 (trade)
