In 1971, due to the enduring popularity of Colt's iconic WW1/WW2 1911/1911A1/ Government, semi automatic pistols, Colt introduced the MK IV Series 70 Government Model. This is an excellent example of the semi automatic pistol in 9mm Luger Calibre. It retains it's original blueing & has a sainless steel hammer and trigger. It has grip safety & wood grips with inlaid Colt roundels. The left side of the slide is stamped 'Colt's MK IV Series 70, Government Model, 9mm Luger Caliber' and rearing horse logo. The right side is stamped 'Colt's Government Model'. The frame is stamped 'Colt's PT FA MFG Co Hartford Conn USA' and with serial number '70L03707'. The breech is marked with 9mm Calibre detail. It is fitted with a 'Bo-Mar' Sight rail marked 'Bo-Mar Pat' and has a blade foresight and adjustable rear sight. The pistol strips, cocks & dry fires as it should.
