Description

New Spec 1935 Japanese Semi Automatic Nambu Type 94 Military Pistol - a very early piece, 1935, serial number 499.

The pistol is stamped with the date on the frame '10.10' and manufacture. The symbol before the date is the Kanji character Sho, short for Showa, the name of the era of the reign of Emperor Hirohito. The first number is the year of the Emperor's reign which began in 1925 and the second set is the month of manufacture. This particular piece then was manufactured in Showa 10.10 or the 10th year of Emperor Hirohito's reign in the 10th month, that is October 1935.

This is a very early production piece as they started making the Type 94 in Showa 10.6 (June, 1935), however production was very low for the first couple of years evidenced by the serial numbers only reaching just over 4,000, with only 600 made in the first year of manufacture.

The left side of the frame has five symbols. The first three are the model/type number (Japanese is read right to left) and translates to "94 Type". The two other symbols are for the safety, the lower one is ka, meaning “fire”, and the upper one is an, meaning safe.

The pistol is also stamped to the frame with serial number '499'.

This pistol was deactivated on the 3rd March 2010. It comes with its certificate.

~ Dimensions ~

The pistol measures 8 inches (20cm) in total. The barrel measures 3.75 inches (9.5cm).

The pistol weighs 745 g.

~ Condition ~

The gun is in decent condition for its age and type. The finish is in a very decent state with only light wear to the blueing. The bakelite grips are showing some wear and are chipped to one side on the lower portion.

Payment & Lay Away: Card payments can be taken over the phone. We do not take Paypal. We can do lay away terms by agreement. Generally we ask a 20% deposit and the balance to be paid within 2 months. Part exchange is often a possibility.
