A Walther model 9 with its holster.

The gun is deactivated to new specification but does not come with a certificate hence the low price. The proof marks are clear so it can be legally owned without the certificate.

Both sides of the slide are marked. One side reads 'Waffenfabrik Walther Zella - Mehlis (thür.)' whilst the other reads 'Walther Patent Mod.9' Underneath the safety is the serial number '615892'.

The gun is 3.9 inches (10cm) long.

The gun has some wear to the metal, especially the slide. The gun can be cocked and dry fired.

The Walther Model 9 was first manufactured in 1921, a year after production of the very successful Model 8 had begun. They wanted to uphold the company’s reputation for quality workmanship, accuracy, and reliability for it to be stylistically similar to the Model 8. The Model 9 turned out to be successful in most of these ways, and proved very influential, spawning a dozen or more imitations and forcing FN to design its Baby Browning in order to stay competitive.
