1856 Percussion East India Pattern Cavalry CarbineA .67 cal. percussion, 21", smoothbore barrel carbine probably locally made in India with swivel ramrod.
On the stock is engraved a barracks issue number of '1230'. There are no other marks or stamps.
The trigger guard and either end of the stock are made from brass.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel length is 22 inches (55.9 cm) and the overall length is 38 inches (96.9 cm).
The weight of the carbine is 2.74 kg.
~ Condition ~
The carbine is in a good used condition. The barrel has developed a decent marbled patina.
The woodwork is in good condition with some minor scratches due to usage.
It half cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring.
