Superb example of Flintlock Blunderbus / Coach Gun.

Two stage hexagonal/round 14" long brass barrel, bell mouth 3cm diameter, steel spring bayonet to top. Lock-plate engraved McDermot, top of barrel Dublin, brass trigger guard, butt cap and tubes holding brass tipped wooden ram-rod, vacant brass escutcheon at wrist, c.1790.
Lock mechanism works perfectly in half and full cock.
Brass barrel and other brass parts with some engraving, in excellent condition. Crisp action. Strong bayonet spring. Woodwork in good condition for age with some handling marks.
A beautiful display item.
